A third victim of the Austin mass shooting on West Sixth Street has died, identified as 30-year-old Jorge Pederson, a 'charismatic fighter'.
Pederson was taken off life support on Monday, March 2, after being shot dead in the mass shooting at Buford's Bar in downtown Austin.
Authorities are investigating the shooting as an act of potential terrorism, with the suspect, 53-year-old Senegalese national Ndiaga Diagne, shot dead by police.
Pederson was described as a 'beloved Minnesotan fighter' by MCFC - Med City Fighting Championships, who said he was a 'fantastic fighter' and 'one of our favorite people to interact with.'
An online fundraiser described Pederson as an 'inspiration in Mixed martial arts to many,' who 'reached a large audience in a short time and began a wave of cultural appreciation for mixed martial arts that will continue long into the future.'
