Cole Allen Charged with Attempt to Assassinate President Trump

White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting suspect Cole Tomas Allen was arraigned in US District Court Monday on charges stemming from the April 25 incident.

Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, California, was arraigned in US District Court on charges stemming from the April 25 White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting.

Allen is now charged with attempt to assassinate the President of the United States, transportation of a firearm & ammunition in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said, 'Cole Allen now faces the full weight of federal justice.' FBI Director Kash Patel added, 'Thanks to the heroic actions of our brave law enforcement partners, Allen did not succeed - and now, he will be held fully accountable.'

Allen was reportedly advised of his Miranda rights and invoked his right to remain silent after being arrested. He was transported to Howard University Hospital for minor injuries, but was later released to law enforcement custody.
