A heated argument broke out at a UN hearing in New York over reports blacklisting Israel for alleged sexual abuses.

Israel's ambassador Danny Danon demanded the resignation of UN official Pramila Patten, who produced a report blacklisting Israel for the first time.

Danon accused Patten of being biased and also hit out at UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, saying he had caved to targeting Israel.

Another UN official, Vanessa Frazier, intervened and was told by Danon to 'be quiet' after she verified evidence in her report.

The dispute unfolded during a public hearing to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.
