Annika Albrecht, a young woman who claims Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) sent her inappropriate messages on Snapchat, has spoken out for the first time about her alleged encounter with the congressman.

Albrecht, who met Swalwell during a college class trip, alleged that he initially approached her under the pretense of offering professional mentorship before sending her sexually inappropriate messages on Snapchat.

She claimed that Swalwell extended an invitation to a hotel room, which she promptly declined and ceased all communication with him.

Albrecht also spoke to other victims of Swalwell, saying it was 'terrifying' to hear their stories of alleged assault.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has launched a probe into allegations of sexual assault against Swalwell, who has denied all claims and stepped down from Congress and his gubernatorial race in California.
