Far-right activist Jake Lang has once again made headlines due to his involvement in a protest outside Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani. Lang and a group of far-right activists were protesting against the 'Islamification of New York City' when explosive devices were thrown at them, injuring three individuals.
Mamdani has condemned the protest, calling the participants 'white supremacists,' while Lang and other far-right influencers have accused Mamdani of shielding the suspects. Lang has a history of involvement in far-right activism, including his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, where he was charged with assaulting police officers.
Lang was pardoned by President Trump in January 2025 as part of a blanket clemency for nearly 1,600 January 6 Capitol riot defendants. He has since become a prominent figure in far-right circles, organizing pro-ICE rallies and fundraising for January 6 defendants.
Lang has also announced his candidacy for the US Senate seat in Florida, targeting the seat vacated by Marco Rubio. He filed with the Federal Election Commission in February 2025 as a Republican.
