The FBI is planning to bring new tech tools into the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, which may finally expose the suspect, according to an expert.
Morgan Wright, CEO and founder of the National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases, believes the tools are likely focused on video forensics, signal analysis, or blockchain technology.
Wright thinks that the solution to the case will be something technical, such as new ways of analyzing data, and that investigative genetic genealogy may not be the breakthrough the investigators are looking for.
He also pointed out that publicly known evidence suggests that there was only one kidnapper, and that the suspect tried to obscure the camera and then took it with him to mask his vehicle, not his face.
The Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, previously acknowledged that the Guthries must be frustrated with the lack of answers, but he is confident that his team will solve the case.
