A former US Army support specialist, Courtney Williams, has been charged with leaking classified information to a journalist.

Williams, 40, worked at Fort Bragg between 2010 and 2016 and had access to sensitive military details.

Prosecutors allege that between 2022 and 2025, Williams shared classified defense information with journalist Seth Harp, who used the material in reporting and a book.

Williams exchanged over 180 messages and spoke for over 10 hours with Harp, sharing information she was not authorized to disclose.

Williams' defense team argues that her disclosures were tied to exposing internal wrongdoing within the elite unit.

Prosecutors, however, claim that her actions put US military personnel and allies at risk.
