A French woman, 86, is being held at an immigration center in Louisiana after rekindling a romance from the 1960s. Marie-Thérèse was arrested in April, despite awaiting a green card. Her son claims she was treated like a 'dangerous criminal.'

Marie-Thérèse moved to the US to marry her long-lost love, Billy, whom she met while he was stationed in France. The two lost touch but reconnected in 2010 and got married last year after Billy's previous wife passed away.

However, Billy died in January, and Marie-Thérèse was arrested by ICE the day before a scheduled hearing. Her son alleges that Billy's son threatened and intimidated her, leading to her detention.

The French foreign ministry is involved, and Marie-Thérèse's son is fighting to get her released and repatriated to France due to her health issues.
