Shay Taylor-Allen, a 32-year-old medical student, has made an incredible comeback at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, where she started as a janitor at 18. She will soon begin her anesthesiology residency in the same hospital.

After graduating from high school, Taylor-Allen took up a cleaning position to cover her expenses, but her journey took a dramatic turn when her mother was hospitalized. She became determined to become a doctor to champion the cause of patients and provide better care.

With perseverance and hard work, Taylor-Allen pursued a post-baccalaureate and master's-level program, passed the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), and secured a spot at Howard University College of Medicine. She successfully matched for an anesthesiology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Now, Taylor-Allen has created a GoFundMe campaign to help her pay off student loans and move to her new town. The campaign has raised over $473 so far, with a goal of $7,000.
