A Frontier Airlines flight from Puerto Rico to Chicago was diverted to Miami after a passenger attempted to open an emergency exit door mid-flight.

The incident occurred on Flight 3345, which was traveling from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Chicago O'Hare International Airport when the crew reported a passenger disturbance.

Passengers intervened and restrained the man, who allegedly tried to open the emergency exit door in an attempt to jump off the plane mid-flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the aircraft was diverted to Miami International Airport at approximately 11:55 pm local time.

The flight landed safely in Miami, and law enforcement removed the passenger.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the FAA is conducting a preliminary review.
