A viral video has surfaced showing a group of masked individuals stealing jewelry worth $1.7 million from Kumar Jewelers, a high-end store in Fremont owned by an Indian-American family.

The surveillance footage, released by the US Department of Justice, shows the suspects using hammers and picks to smash display cases and grab the jewelry in what authorities described as a 'mob-style takeover'.

The incident occurred on June 18, 2025, and the suspects were seen using multiple vehicles to flee the scene.

Four Bay Area residents, Afatupetaiki Faasisila, Jose Herrada-Aragon, Andres Palestino, and Tom Parker Donegan, have been charged in connection with the heist and face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
