Former college football standout Jordan Jones was shot and killed outside a bar in Acworth, Georgia. Jones, a security guard at Saddle Bar, tried to break up a brawl when suspect Daniel Di Vonne Parsons, 25, drew a gun and shot him.
Jones, a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia, played for Mountain View High School and the University of West Alabama, where he tallied 211 total tackles, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one interception.
Friends remember Jones as a 'gentle giant' who always looked out for others. Parsons was arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
