German actress Collien Fernandes has sparked a national debate over online violence after accusing her ex-husband of spreading fake pornographic images of her online.
Fernandes, 44, says her husband, actor Christian Ulmen, 50, used manipulated images and AI tools to make explicit conversations with 30 men, including some from her professional circle.
She initially hesitated to file a complaint but was encouraged by her lawyer, who compared the case to the infamous 'Pelicot case' in France.
Fernandes, who has been plagued by fake profiles and explicit images online, says she is rebuilding through therapy and demands harsher penalties for perpetrators.
The case has put pressure on the German government to address online violence, particularly deepfakes, and has sparked an outpouring of solidarity and death threats for Fernandes.
