Google CEO Sundar Pichai could earn up to $692 million under a new compensation plan, according to a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The Indian-origin tech leader will earn $6 million per year in salary, with the remainder paid through Alphabet stock.

Pichai's compensation will also include shares in two subsidiaries: Waymo and Wing. The allocation will depend on the performance of the shares and the amount of dividends paid by Alphabet.

Under the deal, Pichai would have to forfeit all unexercised stock options in case of dismissal. The filing suggests that the compensation plan has benefited Alphabet and its stockholders significantly.

Sundar Pichai has been the CEO of Alphabet since 2019 and Google since 2015. He has led product and engineering for Google's products and platforms, including Maps, Chrome, Gmail, Android, and Google Workspace.
