An armed man opened fire on Monday at Mexico's famous Teotihuacán pyramids, killing one Canadian and injuring at least 13 people.
The shooter, who later died from self-inflicted wounds, fired shots from the top of the pyramids as dozens of tourists were present.
Police responded quickly, providing security within the archaeological site, and a National Guard unit arrived to handle the emergency.
Several countries, including the US, Colombia, Russia, and Brazil, have citizens among the injured.
The incident comes less than two months before the 2026 World Cup kicks off in Mexico, the US, and Canada, with over 5.5 million visitors expected.
