Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan's jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, has undergone surgery on her right eye at a private hospital in Rawalpindi.
According to jail authorities, Bushra complained of loss of vision in her right eye and was immediately examined by ophthalmologists, who diagnosed retinal detachment.
Doctors advised surgery, and Bushra was taken to a private hospital, where renowned retina specialist Dr Nadeem Qureshi performed the operation.
Postoperative examinations and follow-up will be done as per the doctors' advice.
Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party termed the development 'deeply concerning' and called for Imran Khan to be shifted to a private hospital for treatment of his eye.
