An Indian man in the US is accused of brutally attacking a woman and harming her three-year-old daughter in a San Antonio park.

Atharva Vyas, a 24-year-old Indian national, allegedly assaulted Gabriella Perez and her three-year-old daughter on April 18, 2026.

According to the US Department of Homeland Security, Vyas entered the US in 2023 on a student visa and was arrested three months later on the University of Texas campus for felony assault.

The authorities claimed that Vyas was behind the attack on Perez and her daughter, causing bodily and facial injuries to the child, who had bite marks and lost two teeth.

Vyas was arrested on April 18, 2026, and ICE lodged a detainer with local law enforcement, requesting that he be turned over to ICE once he faces the American justice system.
