A 36-year-old Indian man, Akash Tiwari, has been charged in Singapore for allegedly molesting and harassing a flight attendant on a Singapore Airlines flight.
The incident occurred on February 9 when the flight attendant was serving Tiwari near his seat.
According to the police, Tiwari allegedly made deliberate contact with the woman's buttocks using his body, and despite her warnings, continued to follow her into the aircraft's galley area.
He was arrested upon the aircraft's arrival at Changi Airport and has been formally charged in court.
Tiwari pleaded not guilty to the charges, which carry penalties of up to 3 years in jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of these penalties for molestation, and up to 6 months in jail, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both for using threatening behaviour and causing distress.
