Akash Singhania, an Indian man wrongly accused of attempting to meet a minor, has shared a recording of a phone call between a police officer and his father confirming his innocence.
The recording, shared on social media, shows the police officer explaining that Singhania was at the wrong place at the wrong time and was taken in for questioning, but was later cleared of all wrongdoing.
Singhania faced racism, harassment, and bullying after Russian YouTuber Vitaly shared a video accusing him of being a child predator.
Vitaly has since apologized for the mistake and removed the video from social media platforms.
The police officer in the recording also advises Singhania to file civil lawsuits against those who harassed him, and offers to provide documentation proving his innocence.
