Iran's Parliament speaker, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, has credited the country's use of asymmetric warfare for fending off the United States, despite the US having greater military power and experience.

Ghalibaf stated that the problem on the opposing side was not resources, but strategy, and that the US made strategic errors and miscalculated regarding Iran's people and military design.

He also criticized US policy, saying it prioritizes Israel over America, and that Iran agreed to a ceasefire only after its terms were accepted.

Ghalibaf warned a US delegation in Islamabad about escalation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iranian forces would respond if minesweepers moved from their position in the waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed to commercial shipping, with the IRGC warning that vessels approaching the area could be targeted in response to a continued US blockade of Iranian ports.
