Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran is prepared for any escalation, including a US ground invasion, and has refused to engage in ceasefire talks with the US.
Speaking with NBC Nightly News, Araghchi emphasized that Iran is confident in its ability to confront the US and that a ground invasion would be a 'big disaster' for the US.
The remarks come as US and Israeli airstrikes continue to hit Iran following a large-scale attack that began on Saturday, severely damaging Iran's military defenses and killing the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Araghchi also stated that Iran has not asked for a ceasefire despite the ongoing airstrikes and that the country sees no reason to restart negotiations with the US, citing a lack of positive experience in negotiating with the US, particularly with the current administration.
