Iran's Supreme National Security Council has outlined conditions for control over the Strait of Hormuz, including payment of costs related to security, safety and environmental protection services, state media reported.

US President Donald Trump responded by saying Tehran cannot use the strait as leverage in its dealings with Washington, accusing Iran of 'blackmailing' the US.

A senior Iranian official, Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, stated that Iran would not transfer its enriched uranium to the US, rejecting Trump's remarks.

Khatibzadeh also expressed Iran's readiness to address concerns but rejected 'maximalist' US demands, calling for the finalisation of a 'framework agreement' before any in-person meeting.

Regional tensions were also discussed, with Khatibzadeh stating that Iran would act if attacks by Israel on Lebanon resumed, despite a ceasefire.
