Iran's foreign ministry has rejected US President Donald Trump's claims that Tehran requested a ceasefire, calling them 'false and baseless'. The US President had earlier said that Iran's new regime president had requested a ceasefire, but Iran still has the same president.
Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi had signalled Tehran's willingness to keep fighting, saying that the country does not set deadlines for defending itself.
Trump suggested that the US could end its war on Iran soon, saying that the country is 'incapable' of having nuclear weapons now.
The US President also signalled that the conflict could be brought to an end in two to three weeks even without a deal, and continued threats against the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
