Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi expressed openness to Pakistan-mediated talks with the US, contradicting reports that the initiative had stalled.

In a social media post, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its efforts and clarified that Iran never refused to engage in talks in Islamabad.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that the country's position is being misrepresented in US media, and that what matters is the terms of a conclusive and lasting end to the war imposed on Iran.

The development comes as Pakistan continues to make diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran.

Pakistan's foreign minister Ishaq Dar recently discussed a five-point peace plan with Saudi Arabia's foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The war, triggered by joint US-Israel strikes on Iran on February 28, has continued with strikes targeting several sites in Iran, including a nuclear plant, a petrochemical hub, and a cement factory.
