Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan, dismissing it as 'excessive' and issuing a fresh list of demands, including sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian officials, the country's five major demands are: a complete halt to 'aggression and assassinations' by the enemy, establishment of mechanisms to prevent war reimposition, guaranteed payment of war damages, conclusion of the war across all fronts, and sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
The US proposal, delivered by Pakistani officials, broadly addressed sanctions relief, a rollback of Iran's nuclear program, limits on missiles, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian officials have called out Trump, stating that the US President 'cannot dictate when the war will end and on what conditions.'
