A top Iranian military spokesperson, Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, has taken a dig at US President Donald Trump, asking if he was negotiating with himself over ceasefire talks.
Zolfaghari made the statement in a prerecorded video aired on state television, days after he mocked Trump by saying 'Hey Trump – you are fired.'
The Iranian military spokesperson questioned Trump's ability to negotiate a ceasefire deal, saying 'The strategic power you used to talk about has turned into a strategic failure.'
Zolfaghari also stated that Trump's era of empty promises has come to an end and that the US President's internal conflicts have reached the point where he is negotiating with himself.
The comments come after the Trump administration reportedly sent a 15-point ceasefire plan to Iran through Pakistan.
Zolfaghari's statement has gone viral on social media, with many praising his bold move against the US President.
