Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has vowed to 'pursue and kill' Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom they described as a 'child-killing criminal'. The threat comes amid unverified claims and reports of Netanyahu's assassination.
According to Iranian state media, the IRGC stated that if Netanyahu is alive, they will continue to pursue and kill him with full force. The threat comes just hours after the Israeli PM's office dismissed reports of Netanyahu's assassination and said that the premier is fine.
The speculation over Netanyahu's assassination began after a video posted on his X handle seemingly showed the Israeli PM with six fingers, sparking rumours of the footage being manipulated or AI-generated.
However, X's AI chatbot, Grok, debunked all these claims and rumours, clarifying that the video was not manipulated but rather a visual illusion.
Israel and Iran have been at loggerheads since the attack on Jerusalem by militant outfit Hamas, an Iranian proxy, on October 7, 2023. The two sides have clashed on and off more so than ever since then, with tensions escalating into a 12-day war last year.
