Local media in Iran claimed its Revolutionary Guards had downed two US fighter jets, including an F-15E, with the pilot ejecting over southwestern Iran.
An Iranian state television anchor said that anyone capturing the pilot alive would receive a reward, while an on-screen crawl called on citizens to 'shoot them if you see them.'
Iran also claimed to have shot down a second US F-35 fighter jet over central parts of the country, with the survival of the pilot unlikely due to a massive explosion on impact.
The authenticity of photographs released by Tasnim news agency showing the downed jet, allegedly with US markings, has not been independently verified.
