Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Iran have continued despite a two-week truce announced by the US and Iran, based on some terms. The truce was brokered by Pakistan and other mediating countries, but Israel claims it was not formally part of the negotiations.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Israel was not consulted before the truce was finalized, and only received word of the deal shortly before it was announced. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the truce excluded Israel's fight with Hezbollah, but later said it was made 'in full cooperation with Israel.'
Israeli strikes in Lebanon on Wednesday killed at least 89 people, and hit several dense commercial and residential areas in central Beirut without warning. Iran's foreign minister flagged the strikes to mediators in Islamabad, and Pakistan's Prime Minister urged all sides to 'exercise restraint and respect' the truce.
Iran also continued to strike Gulf countries, including Qatar, UAE, and Kuwait, in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon. An Israeli-made drone was allegedly struck over southern Iran.
