The Israeli military has announced that it will continue its 'series of eliminations' of senior Iranian officials, following the killing of Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib.

According to AFP, military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin stated that the military will 'continue to hunt down all of the regime's senior officials. The series of eliminations will not stop.'

Khatib's killing comes after Israel killed Iran's powerful security chief Ali Larijani and another powerful figure, Gholamreza Soleimani, head of the Basij paramilitary force.

The military spokesperson described the targeted officials as 'murderers responsible for numerous terrorist operations.'

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the 'cowardly assassination' and offered his condolences, while the country's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, declared that the killers would 'soon have to pay' for their actions.
