A shooting incident near the iconic STRAT Hotel in Las Vegas has left one person injured and prompted a heavy police response on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of South Main Street.
The individual struck by gunfire was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled and locked themselves inside a hotel room, escalating the situation into a standoff, and specialized units were deployed to safely resolve the incident.
The shooting comes amid a surge in visitors due to WrestleMania 42, one of the biggest events in professional wrestling, drawing thousands of fans to the city.
