Passengers heading to New Jersey have been advised to use the Center Tube, while vehicles on 10th Avenue have been directed to turn right onto 40th Street for tunnel access to New Jersey.

A vehicle fire following an accident in the Lincoln Tunnel near Manhattan caused massive traffic delays on Monday.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation reported that the fire broke out at the North Tube of the westbound Lincoln Tunnel, blocking all lanes.

As of now, no details on when traffic operations will return to normal have been provided by the authorities.

The Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New Jersey and Midtown Manhattan, handles approximately 110,000–120,000 vehicles per day, making it one of the busiest vehicular tunnels in the world.
