A 49-year-old woman, Claire Freemantle, has been charged with dangerous driving following a reinvestigation into a 2023 car crash in London that killed two eight-year-old girls, including Indian-origin Nuria Sajjad.

The collision occurred at the Study Prep School in Wimbledon, where students and their families were celebrating the end of term.

Freemantle was initially cleared of any charges, but a second investigation led to significant new evidence being passed to the Crown Prosecution Service for consideration.

The CPS has decided to prosecute Freemantle with two offences of causing death by dangerous driving and seven offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on June 16.
