A synagogue in north London has been targeted in an attempted arson attack, the latest in a spate of incidents targeting the Jewish community in the British capital.
According to the Community Security Trust, a charity which provides security to Britain's Jewish community, there was minor smoke damage to an internal room, but no injuries or significant structural damage.
The incident follows similar recent attacks targeting synagogues in Finchley, Golders Green, and Hendon, as well as an attempted arson attack on a business premises with links to the Jewish community.
Police have boosted their presence in the area, including the deployment of armed response vehicles and resources from the counter-terrorism division.
A pro-Iranian group, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya, has claimed responsibility for most of these incidents, posting on social media that it was behind the Kenton arson.
Britain's Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has condemned the attacks, describing them as a 'sustained campaign of violence and intimidation' against the Jewish community of the UK.
