Mall of Louisiana Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 5 Wounded, Including High School Seniors

A deadly shooting at the Mall of Louisiana left one person dead and several injured, with high school students among the victims.

At least one person is dead and five others were wounded after a shooting broke out inside the food court at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday afternoon.

Among the victims were high school seniors who had gathered at the mall for 'senior skip day.'

Lafayette Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet confirmed that three of the people shot were seniors at Ascension Episcopal School.

The Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse confirmed that there were a total of six victims, with one person killed, one in surgery, and four others with minor injuries.

Police have taken five suspects into custody, but no formal arrests have been made, and at least two more suspects are still being sought.
