The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez as the alleged ringleader behind the foiled terror plot targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.

Alvarez, a Mexican national, overstayed his visa before receiving protection under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

He allegedly planned, organized, and directed the operation, outlining the attack in an encrypted group chat, discussing the use of 'counter sniper(s) and drones' with the stated objective of being 'as deadly as we can get.'

Federal prosecutors have charged Alvarez and four co-defendants with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds.

Alvarez faces significant prison sentences if convicted, and ICE has already filed an immigration detainer against him.
