Thousands of customers in Missouri are without power amid a tornado watch and severe weather. Over 5,000 City Utilities customers in Greene County are affected, while 313 homes and businesses in Chariton County are also without electricity.
Chariton County ranks 7th in Missouri for total outages and 4th for the highest percentage of customers affected. A Tornado Watch was issued by the National Weather Service in Springfield, covering 20 counties across central, east central, south central, and southwest Missouri.
Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert as conditions remain favorable for tornadoes and severe weather through the evening. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was also issued, warning of possible hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
