Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has assured that the Nancy Guthrie case is far from being a cold case. He revealed that the Sheriff's Department is still working with the FBI, labs, and forensics examiners to analyze thousands of video footage and DNA evidence that is still workable.
Nanos emphasized that the case is 'unlike anything we've seen in years in Tucson' and that a breakthrough could happen at any time. He also expressed his gratitude for the public's criticism, stating that it's better directed at him rather than his team.
The Sheriff's Department has dedicated an investigative team of about 20 to the case, and Nanos assured that the department's ability to respond to other crimes or public safety concerns in Pima County has not been affected.
