Nepal's Home Minister Sudan Gurung has resigned amid growing criticism over his alleged business links and financial conduct.
Gurung, who was appointed on March 27, stepped down to ensure an impartial investigation into his financial dealings and avoid conflict of interest.
He cited the importance of ethics and public trust in a Facebook post, referencing the country's Gen Z movement demanding good governance and accountability.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah has taken over the Home Ministry portfolio, and Gurung's resignation comes after the sacking of Labour Minister Dip Kumar Sah on April 9.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party government, led by Shah, came to power following the September 2025 Gen Z protests that toppled the K P Sharma Oli-led coalition.
