Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi launched a sharp attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, questioning his stance toward Christians after Netanyahu's controversial remarks about Jesus Christ.

Araghchi seized on Netanyahu's comments, saying they fit with his current status as a wanted war criminal.

Netanyahu sparked outrage with his statement that 'Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan,' citing historian Will Durant.

Netanyahu sought to clarify his position, saying he 'did not denigrate Jesus Christ' and that the idea was Durant's, but critics were not convinced.
