Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah 'wherever necessary' following the deadliest strikes on Lebanon since the conflict began last month.

The strikes, which targeted busy commercial and residential areas in central Beirut, resulted in a reported 250 deaths, according to Reuters, and 182 fatalities, as per AP.

Tehran responded to the strikes by closing the Strait of Hormuz again, as per AP, after initially agreeing to reopen it for two weeks following a US-Iran ceasefire announcement.

Netanyahu stated that Lebanon was not part of the two-week ceasefire deal between Iran and the US, despite US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance backing the claim.

However, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is hosting peace negotiations between Iran and the US, mentioned that Lebanon was part of the ceasefire.

The conflict has raised tensions between Iran and the US, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating that the ball is in the US' court and that they must choose between a ceasefire or continued war.
