The fire that broke out in Union City on Saturday has been brought under control, according to the North Bergen Police Department.
A third-alarm fire was reported at 3812 Bergen Turnpike, where firefighters responded to a fully involved garage fire that had extended to a nearby private dwelling.
Thick smoke billowed across parts of North Bergen, Union City, Hoboken, and Secaucus in New Jersey, causing power outages and traffic disruptions.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and residents are advised to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to operate safely.
