NVIDIA has announced its most ambitious graphics technology yet, DLSS 5, which the company claims is the biggest leap in computer graphics since real-time ray tracing arrived in 2018.
The new system, unveiled by Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, aims to bridge the gap between Hollywood-level rendering and real-time gaming.
DLSS 5 is a real-time neural rendering model that uses artificial intelligence to infuse game visuals with photoreal lighting and materials, running in real time at up to 4K resolution.
The technology has already gained support from major gaming publishers and developers, including Bethesda, CAPCOM, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games, with several games confirmed to support DLSS 5, including Assassin's Creed Shadows and Hogwarts Legacy.
