Oman and Iran held talks to discuss easing the flow of transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping chokepoint.
The meeting, attended by specialists from both sides, was held at the level of deputy ministers in the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Experts from both sides presented visions and proposals that will be studied to ensure the smooth flow of transit through the Strait of Hormuz amid the circumstances currently prevailing in the region.
The talks come at a time when US President Donald Trump has warned of unleashing 'hell' if Tehran fails to open the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran is drafting a proposal with Oman to 'monitor' the Strait of Hormuz, which aims to facilitate and ensure safe passage and provide better services to ships passing through this route.
