Pakistani authorities have taken stringent security measures in Rawalpindi and Islamabad ahead of possible talks between the US and Iran.
Over 10,000 police personnel have been deployed and over 600 checkpoints have been established across Rawalpindi, with a complete ban on drone flights, pigeon flying, and aerial firing.
Security has been put on high alert in sensitive areas surrounding Nur Khan Airbase and Islamabad International Airport, with a red alert declared in Rawalpindi.
Restaurants, parks, beauty parlours, markets, and other establishments have been ordered to close until further notice, with a complete ban on parking along sensitive routes.
Hotels and guesthouses have been instructed to keep a record of guests and submit reports to the relevant police station on a daily basis.
The ceasefire between the US and Iran is set to expire on April 22, but there is no final word yet on the timing of the second round of talks.
