Lahore, Pakistan: Punjab Police have registered a case against unidentified gunmen who opened fire on Lashkar-e-Taiba co-founder Amir Hamza, leaving him injured.
Hamza was traveling in a vehicle with Justice Nazir Ahmed Ghazi, a host on private TV channel 24NewsHD TV, when the attack occurred.
The police have taken over the investigation, with intelligence agencies assisting in the probe.
Hamza has been shifted to his residence in Lahore, where he is receiving treatment.
The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, a political front of Jamat-ud-Dawah, has condemned the attack and demanded the arrest of those involved.
Hamza is considered the second most important leader of LeT, after its chief Hafiz Saeed, who has been in jail since 2019.
