Pakistan is gearing up for peace talks between Iran and the US, aiming to end the war that began on February 28. The talks will take place in Islamabad, with a two-day public holiday declared and visa-on-arrival for delegates.

The talks will be indirect, with the two delegations sitting in separate rooms and Pakistani officials shuttling proposals between them. The security situation is tight, with armed personnel and police checkpoints in place.

The US delegation will be led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran's delegation will be led by parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and foreign minister Abbas Araghchi. The talks centre on a 15-point US proposal and a 10-point Iranian plan, with key issues including enriched uranium, ballistic missiles, sanctions relief, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
