Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir has arrived in Iran to facilitate a second round of talks between the US and Iran, following the failure of the first round of Islamabad talks.

Munir, accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, was welcomed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who expressed gratitude for Pakistan's efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

The agenda for the talks includes finding a compromise on Iran's nuclear program, the Strait of Hormuz, and compensation for wartime damages, which were major sticking points in the previous negotiations.

The US had deployed sea mine destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz during the talks, and President Donald Trump later announced a blockade of the strait for ships traveling to or from Iranian ports.

Pakistan is pushing for a compromise on these issues, with the US indicating that it remains actively engaged in talks and views Islamabad as a potential venue for further negotiations.
