A Pennsylvania state trooper was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Chester County, authorities said. State Police Corporal Tim O'Connor was killed in the line of duty, leaving behind a wife and young daughter.
Gov. Josh Shapiro paid tribute to O'Connor, saying his heart breaks for the family. Shapiro directed flags across the Commonwealth to be lowered in honor of the fallen trooper.
Many have offered their prayers and condolences for O'Connor's family and fellow law enforcement partners. A joint investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
