Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek during his two-day visit to the Central Asian nation. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring areas of mutual cooperation between India and Kyrgyzstan.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit comes on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek. The discussions between the two leaders are expected to cover a wide range of issues, including political relations, trade, connectivity, development cooperation and regional security.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the SCO Summit. The two leaders reviewed various aspects of India-Iran relations and exchanged views on recent developments in the West Asia region.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s consistent position that all outstanding issues should be addressed through dialogue and diplomacy. He also stressed the importance of continued international efforts to promote peace and stability in West Asia.
The Prime Minister further underlined the need to safeguard freedom of navigation and ensure the uninterrupted flow of commerce, highlighting their importance for regional and global economic stability.
